When Photography Meets Creativity

About 5 or 6 months ago, I received my first Nikon DSLR camera (D5100), it was big black and beautiful. At the time it was daunting just to hold this piece of technology, let alone use it for its designed purpose. However after many hours of messing around and a few YouTube lessons later, I became a “great-amateur” photographer ready to “shoot” everything. Being the “great-amateur” I thought it would be good only to take the camera out when the stage was set for photography, what I now know in hindsight is that life is always set for photography, all you have to do is look for it. Below are a few of my better shots, I hope you enjoy.

Madonna MDNA 2012

Oh, my God,

I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee

And I detest all my sins,

Because I dread the loss of heaven

And the pains of hell.

But most of all because I love Thee

And I want so badly to be good.

Restoration from the death or simply another catchy album from the queen of pop?

I would say a bit of both, mixed together with a sprinkle of conspiracy from the Free Masons and Illuminati, and presto you arrive at my feelings for this album.

As we all know Madonna is by far the most successful female artist in the world, we might say she is the female Michael Jackson. She has ruled the music world for over 30 years. This may be true however since 2005 a young lady by the name of “Gaga” flooded the market with sex appeal and crazy antics on and off stage taking the CONTROVERSY spotlight off Madonna.

Between the Internet and the tabloids, Lady Gaga has been raining supreme. Although the battle between Madonna and Lady Gaga is not EASILY spotted I do believe it is real and clear that perhaps Lady Gaga was the REPLACEMENT for Madonna.

I thought wrong on the 23rd of March 2012 Madonna and her team announced that “MDNA” her 12th studio album had been released, and that with every CD purchase a tasty little concert ticket would also be RECEIVED to Madonna’s sellout tour. Sneaky TACTICS to climb the BILLBOARD charts or simply seeing the loophole and grabbing the opportunity.

With everyone singing along to “Give me all your lovin'” Madonna was ready to get back into the music game and FINALLY steal the CONTROVERSY spotlight back from Lady Gaga. By week 3 of album sales a mega 87% sales drop was recorded, this send the Twitter idiots and tabloid websites in to HYSTERIA, and although I cant confirm this, but rumor has it Madonna popped a bottle of CHAMPAIGN and pissed all over Lady Gaga’s new album. Why you may ask…? Simply put, that spotlight was back in its rightful place.

Beyond the drama, RUMORS and CONTROVERSY, Madonna has actually created a decent album, catchy pop songs with an undertone of tech beats, help create and album suited for the masses and the never ending die heart fans. Everyone can sing along and enjoy the music. What I like is that Madonna has stayed true to her art form and genre, she has let the tech scene INFLUENCE her, but wasn’t she the one who always set pop culture for the rest of us?

Madonna is back and hopefully will continue to squash Lady and her Gaga under her leather boots. We look forwards to see what else Madonna will do to entertain us, Maybe the Free Masons will have her drink her own blood or join up with Gaga to take over the world… EITHER WAY WE WILL BE WATCHING AND WAITING,

Have you heard of “The Fro?” Probably not.

Recently I bought the New Nikon D5100, This powerful camera with 16.2 Megapixels, full HD 1080p video recording and a cool 3 inch swivel screen, making photography really easy.

Beside the fact that this Nikon does an amazing job, there are some problems like the fact that I hardly know how to use it. At this point I’m sure your thinking, “Why not read the user manual?”

Firstly: I never read a user manual.

And Secondly: I left it in South Africa and I’m in Europe.

So being the ingenuous guy I am, I turned to my dear friend Google and began hunting for some way to better use my new and powerful camera. Hunting for a few minutes I found my self tangled in YouTube watching videos all about the photography world.

After watching 10 or so videos I landed on “The Fro”. The Fro is a young guy who is incredibly passionate about photography. Jared Polin is his name and he has dedicated his life to photography and the development of people’s skills in the photography game.

Jared is smart, and really knows his stuff, his catch line “I Shoot RAW” has got us all thinking about our own photography skills and how we can personally improve. He runs a fully functional website and YouTube channel, not to mention that he is a professional photographer for weddings, sporting events and anything else you want him to shoot.

If you wish to improve your photography skills fast and effectively, I recommend “The Fro” because “The Fro Knows Photos”.

The Creative Panic

“A little spot for illustrations and other inane piffle that populates my head, my world and hopefully many of the other multi-verses in which I have not been eaten by a shark, died choking on mashed potato or have been born a small teapot circling a distant star.”

The Creative Panic is a 365 day event starting on the 20th January 2011 and ending 19th January 2012.

The idea was to create a new design/drawing/artwork everyday for the next 365 days.

Although the event is almost over you can still check out the designs on the website.
